Christ sat beside his broken bike, looking utterly defeated, as his mother, father, and Ava's mom stood by, trying to comfort him.
“Don’t cry, Christ,” his mother murmured gently.
“Mom, can’t you see? My bike’s mirror is broken!” Christ sniffled. “I won’t forgive her...”
“Who won’t you forgive?” Ava’s mom asked, puzzled.
“Her... Ava—”
Suddenly, Ava appeared and clamped a hand over his mouth. “Christ, don’t make a scene! If you want, I’ll fix it for you. And remember,” she whispered in his ear, “don’t even think about mentioning that ‘nasty position’...”
Flustered, Christ stammered, “Y-yeah, Mom, I’m fine. And Ava, thanks. Crying in front of a girl—so unmanly, right?”
He offered a forced smile. The mothers exchanged a look, then moved aside to talk, leaving Christ and Ava alone.
Ava grabbed a handful of his hair and tugged. “What were you about to blurt out, huh?”
He smirked. “Just telling the truth. You broke my darling’s mirror!”
Ava rolled her eyes. “Stop whining, Christ. I’ll take care of it. Just remember our deal—don’t tell anyone.”
With that, she hurried home, got ready for college, and soon found herself in class, distracted by last night’s events. She couldn’t stop thinking about the mysterious biker who’d left such a strong impression on her.
Her friend Camellie nudged her. “Ava! Hey, where’s your mind wandering?”
Ava snapped back. “Nowhere, really.”
“Sure, just don’t start obsessing over Professor Jungkook,” Camellie teased with a laugh.
“Please,” Ava huffed, “as if! I was thinking about something else, actually.”
Moments later, Cheng, another classmate, approached with a grin. “Thanks, Ava, for those notes. I got everything I needed!”
“It’s nothing,” Ava replied, gesturing to her best friends. “They deserve the thanks too.”
Camellie waved it off. “No need, Cheng.”
Just then, Professor Jungkook entered, silencing the room with his cold stare. “Today, we’re having a surprise test,” he announced, crossing his arms.
The class erupted in protests, but Jungkook cut them off. “If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll be fine.”
Ava noticed his gaze lingered on her, but she quickly looked away, her mind racing with anxiety. She’d hoped he’d moved past their conflicts, but it seemed he was far from done.
